Yaatzil has been working as a freelance photographer for more than six years. In 2017, Yaatzil's documentary photography was selected by the National Art Network (Mexico) to exhibit her photographic series ‘Cities and Realities’ in the Auditorium station gallery (January 2018). This same series was then chosen by one of the most renowned universities in Latin America, Colegio de Mexico, for being exhibited at the Library Daniel Cosio Villegas in April of 2018.

As an architectural photographer, Yaatzil has collaborated with international firms, such as Arquitectura de Estudio (Mexico), Materia Arquitectonica (Mexico), Bandada Studio (Spain). Her architectural photography has been published in different renowned design platforms, such as Arquine (Mexico), Retail Design Blog (Hungary), Artec3​ (Spain), and AN magazine (Italy).
